Page 94! Another quick one, and one I couldnt resist. Alas, David Hayter was not asked to play Big Boss in the upcoming new Metal Gear Solid game (or…games? At this time, we’re still not sure how it works)…So. He may not be playing him or Snake again. But in comments Hayter made, he seems to accept it, and he had a good run. I’ll miss him, too.

Hey, it’s Page 93! This is just a quick one again. I did indeed get a new computer recently, after years of not being able to (although I…was using a working one for those years, too. :P ) It’s been several years since I really felt I could justify getting a new computer. My old one was starting to slowly break down and I even had a brief scare in which I did think it died… Anyway, so I have a lappy this time! I do indeed dislike touch pads, and I’m…not fond of Windows…I did heed other user warnings though, and didn’t get Windows 8.

So here’s hoping to many good years with my new machine!

So yeah, have you ever looked up a tutorial online, perhaps for a digital editing program, and found it to be…lacking? I…really hate that. Seriously, if you are going to make a step-by-step, actual tutorial….don’t skip steps. That defeats the purpose of making a tutorial, doesn’t it? I don’t understand people who do this….Now, if you’re not making a real tutorial and are just giving a brief overview of how you do something, that’s fine, but don’t call it a ‘tutorial’ then.

Page 91! Oh God, this is exactly what I did not want to happen…Has it really been this long? Sigh…Well, this is a filler page anyway that I did a while ago. Page 90 is up! This is one I was working on a long time ago, but didn’t get it finished and posted, due to technical and time issues. Yeah, I know, you can kind of see it to begin with. It looks like they’re looking at just a….flat…giant poster, maybe. I know. I just couldn’t fix it. Sigh…

So yes, this is a real book, actually, and another HUGE one, like Amano’s The Sky. It was a Kickstarter book that Seth Godin had running, and finished. Being a Godin fan, Alex contributed, and got the book. Well. He really had no idea the book was going to be so HUGE; the Kickstarter page was evidently mum on that detail. And yes, it even came in a box that in itself was too big for the book itself. It…was strange.

I always wonder why people make a lot of books so huge. It can be nice, but other times, I find it’s really not necessary, and often problematic. Big books tend to fall apart a lot easier, due to binding breaking. This won’t happen if you don’t open the book that often, but why would you have a book if you don’t read it? So yeah, it just doesn’t make sense to me sometimes.

I hope I’ll have something up Tuesday! We’ll see! I’m trying to get back on track.

And finally here is Page 89! I know, right. I actually drew this way back in December, but wasn’t able to really post it. As this illustrates, I moved in December (I know, not a wise time, but it wasn’t planned intentionally) and it’s taken too long to get a lot of things together and in order. So this is just a filler page I meant to put up ages ago. I have another page waiting to be edited and finished, and hopefully that can be done this week. It’ll be so nice to really be caught up… -__-

I also realize this page is a little odd. Long story short, I got some computer upgrades and cant use some of my programs anymore, so I had to find alternates for now. I’m trying to figure them out and get used to them, so we’ll see what happens…

I’ll do my best to keep regular updates again! Times have been tough, and being able to work on regular updates would have continued to be a challenge anyway. I still don’t quite know how it’s all going to work, but we’ll see.

…now I can finally post that filler page I made in December! Then…regular comics. ;P

Oy. So yeah, there’s been no update in a long while. Well. I have had no internet also for a while, and no real convenient way to update, long story short. Also, due to life, making a lot of news comics would have been difficult, if not impossible, over the last couple of weeks. :x Sigh…I am doing my best to get back on track but it’s been really hard.

I really didn’t want to be THIS kind of comic, but well…it can’t truly be helped. I am trying though, I really am. I hope this year will be fortuitous for me….We’ll see when I can bring things back on track; I hope I’ll at least have the internet back soon.

Well. There were no comics this week. Sigh…I just couldn’t get anything together at all. There just wasn’t any time. Next week should be a lot better. Theoretically. We’ll have to wait and see how it goes for sure, but I’d hope I’ll be able to get something up, and better than what I’ve been doing lately.

Page 87, just another quick art post. Of…a Christmas alien! The thing is, I’ve drawn this alien guy for some years now, and worked, and re-worked, on a short comic story featuring him and other aliens. It was part of an idea to put together a short comic story anthology and give it to friends, at first. That idea fell apart, and most of the material I wanted to include was not finished. The material that was finished is so old now that I wouldn’t dare use it. We’ll see if any of it ever surfaces again.

I’d really love to make regular comics like I used to, again…. -___- Like I mentioned, some time next week, I might have more time. We’ll see. So next update, Tuesday!

Page 84 up, and it’s…an angel! I used to draw angels every year, usually around this time of year, actually. I do miss doing it….I only really had time for a quick sketch like this one, so forgive any flaws. I have so much to be thankful and grateful for….I like to think that Heaven is indeed blessing me and helping guide me.

I probably won’t have time to make a regular comic this week either, although I sure tried to…I’m thus not sure what Thursday’s update will look like. Maybe another angel sketch, and given the day, it will be fitting. So, next update Thursday!

I managed to get page 83 up; it’s something, anyway. Erik Larsen did indeed say this on his message board, although I can’t find the exact quote. I’m sorry, I just can’t disagree more on this. Batman, or any superhero, wearing actual tights on film, will look stupid, no one will take it seriously, and a movie like that will probably bomb. Hey, remember, there ARE Batman movies that people hate already; it can happen again.

Larsen also argued that Batman appears tougher when he doesn’t have armor and other contraptions protecting him. But….doesn’t one wear armor and have tools so that you can protect yourself against danger? Isn’t that just called being prepared, and trying to gain an advantage over your enemies? Even Zorro, Batman’s own hero and inspiration, had a sword to protect himself and defend others; and that was about it. Zorro didn’t have armor or anything, and he didn’t have to take a sword with him. It was just a good idea and served a purpose.

One could certainly make a point that in the more recent movies, Batman’s outfit looked too much like armor, which it was, and that it’s unappealing or too distracting when you can see it. I can understand that. But seriously, is wearing tights the answer either? I…think not. I’m not trying to pick on Erik either; I love his work and he sounds like a great guy. I just don’t agree with his suggestion.

Page 82 is here. It’s…Nei. In…space. Yeah. I have had so little time to work on a real comic in the past couple of weeks again…I do miss doing it….But like I’ve said, I suppose something like this is better than nothing. There are some things I still want to make into comics, but I either, again, don’t have the time, or haven’t figured out how to do it yet. Or both. Sigh…Well, hopefully things will start to get easier to deal with.

Page 80! Hey, I could make a good old-fashioned 80-page giant special comic! So, this is also special because today is Election Day 2012, a very, VERY important day for everyone here in the U.S. If you are old enough and legally able to vote, DO IT. DO IT NOW. YOU HEARD THE BOOB-LADY; VOTE, AMERICA.

Seriously, you NEED to vote, if you are able to. Please. Do it. It’s so important, it’s not even funny. Do NOT throw your right away. I know, some people say they don’t like the candidates, or they don’t care, or they don’t pay attention, or whatever.

I’m so sick of hearing all of those things.

You must educate YOURSELF. You SHOULD care. You SHOULD care A LOT. I understand not liking the candidates; trust me, I KNOW. I don’t have an answer for you there, you’ll have to figure that out on your own. But please, just VOTE. No, it’s NOT ‘cool’ to be completely apathetic. Yes, you also do have the right to NOT vote, but that doesn’t mean that’s what you should do.

If you really do want to help make a difference in this country, and even in the world, then vote, right here, right now. It’s the right thing to do (assuming you are legally able to, anyway).

Page 79! Oy, so that was huge, huge news this week; Disney is actually buying Lucasfilm, and will actually own Star Wars. I…never thought I’d be saying that in my life. It’s pretty mind-blowing. So yes….Disney owns…their own stuff, and Marvel Comics…and now, it will be Star Wars and Indiana Jones. And, they’ve announced right away that they will be making Episode VII. Just….wow.

I don’t know if I honestly ever expected in my life that there would seriously be an Episode VII. And well…I’m not sure we really need one. I mean, where would they take another trilogy? I know Lucas originally intended to, but since Star Wars multimedia exploded, what is there really left for movies to cover that’s all-new and significant?

There are a lot of ways I could have taken a comic, but I had time restraints…I’d like to ask though; is this what fans really want? I mean, really? I know fans who hate the New Trilogy are probably happy to some degree; this means others not Lucas will be handling Star Wars movies, not just directing. But…really? Disney? I mean, what does it tell you that Episode VII was announced immediately? Remember fan complaints about Pirates of the Caribbean, when Disney got Sequelitis over that series?

Is this what you want, fans? Really?

But as I say in the comic, the original spirit of Star Wars still exists, and it always will be, as long as fans recognize it, and pass it on. Always pass it on.
